Getting
to know Habihat Swallow
The swallow environment,
research results from Unpad Journal, is divided into two, micro habitat and
macro habitat. The micro habitat is a place for swallows to breed, nest and
rest. These natural micro habitats are like caves and cliffs. Meanwhile,
artificial micro-habitats include houses or buildings where swallows live.
Macro habitat includes a
place where swallows forage. Swallow birds like wet places, such as forests,
moor, rice fields, and around oil palm plantations.
In contrast to micro-habitat
conditions, macro habitat conditions cannot be controlled by human hands. These
conditions adjust to natural conditions. So this is where the consideration
will be in the position and ranking of this building.
The two habitats above are
complementary. This needs to be considered by the swallow businessman. Because
it relates to the productivity of birds in nest making. This conclusion was
drawn from the results of research by students of Padjajaran University, East
Lampung Regency.
Micro
habitat conditions
The Swallow House needs to
build a comfortable habitat so that the swallow feel comfortable in it. For
example, the air is humid and a little foggy, like in a cave. In terms of
lighting, the swallow house needs a dark atmosphere. The smell and smell of swallow
droppings also need to be spread to bring the swallow.
